If the drum battle between lookalikes Will Ferrell and Red Hot Chilli Peppers drummer, Chad Smith, wasn’t satisfying enough, the unrelated twins are here to fulfill your drum battle needs once again.
If you missed it, these two decided to have a drum-off in order to determine who the real Chad smith was:

Well, now that the DNA drum battle has come to an end, someone else wants in, and for similar reasons.
Will and Chad sat down with Metal Injection earlier this week to discuss their future in drumming warfare, and Will expressed sympathy for Metalicca‘s drummer, Lars Ulrich, by saying “Lars gets pissed because he gets mistaken for both me and Chad Smith. He can settle that score now, too.”
Chad sealed the deal by chiming in with, “There it is. The gauntlet is down.”
The fact that Lars bears no resemblence to neither Will nor Chad, just makes the grounds for the battle that much more entertaining.

Spin Magazine reached out to Lars after hearing about Will and Chad’s challenge, and it looks like he has decided to go ahead and pick up the gauntlet!

It was a little lonely on the sidelines during the first drum-off, given the somewhat forced nature of the lookalike element between Chad Smith and Will Ferrell, when I’m TRULY the one carrying that dead-ringer gene around! As for any further drum-offs, I’m sure that with a bit of practice, I could give Chad a run for his money. But Will? That’s a whole different story. He rules the “bad-ass drummer universe.” I mean, you’re talking about a guy who’s so next level, actually, so beyond next level, that he may just be completely unreachable! That said, I’m definitely up for the challenge…Bring it on!!!
Will Ferrell did say that his and Chad’s battle “could become the beginning of a rivalry that will go on until the end of time.”
We really hope it doesn’t end with Lars! Who do you think will win this time?
